Does Your Rolling Door Carry the Label to Prove It? The McKEON® AirShield™ AL3014 Does.
Meet the McKEON® AirShield™ Model AL3014, currently the only rolling service door on the market with a publicly listed, certified label covering both air infiltration and exfiltration. And here’s what makes it a true standout: that label comes on every single door.
This distinction matters, and if rolling service doors are part of your next project, it’s worth understanding exactly why.
Built for What the Code Actually Requires
The 2024 IECC requires that rolling door assemblies in the building thermal envelope be tested and labeled for a maximum air leakage rate of 1.00 cfm/ft² in both directions. That means infiltration and exfiltration, tested by an accredited, independent testing laboratory, and labeled by the manufacturer. Not a spec sheet or a test report, a label.
McKEON can provide that label. And the AL3014 is proof.
How the AL3014 Delivers
The AL3014 is tested, listed, and labeled in accordance with ANSI/DASMA 105, DASMA 112, and ASTM E283 for both air infiltration and exfiltration, with actual leakage rates of 0.84 cfm/ft² for infiltration and 0.92 cfm/ft² for exfiltration. Both come in well under the 1.00 cfm/ft² threshold required by the code, are publicly listed by Intertek, and are verifiable by the certified label that ships with every door.
The performance begins with the door’s design. The AL3014 curtain is built from extruded 14-gauge aluminum slats with a tight slat-to-slat interface that seals the assembly far more effectively than traditional roll-formed steel; no external covers or added guide components required. Perimeter brush seals at the hood, header, and guides complete the picture.
Additional Specs:
- Widths to 24’ and heights to 48’ (custom configurations available)
- Optional thermal insulation with R-value up to 8.0
- Power or manual operation
- Clear anodized or powder coat finish in any selected color
- Compliant with the 2024 IECC and ASHRAE 90.1 for air leakage ratings
We’re Ready to Collaborate
If your next project includes rolling service doors in the building envelope, the question worth asking is simple: can the door you’re considering prove it meets code with a label? Not a brochure or a submittal packet, but an actual third party-verified label on every door.
The McKEON AirShield™ AL3014 can. And if you’re ready to learn more about how to incorporate it into your next project, we’re ready to help. Contact Modernfold Chicago and let’s get started.
