Fire & Smoke Rated Curtains

Fire and smoke rated curtains are a flexible alternative to traditional fire barriers, deploying automatically on alarm to protect openings that would be impractical or impossible to close with conventional doors or shutters. These systems are used in a wide range of applications including atriums, corridors, large openings, and elevator lobbies.

McKeon FireFighter® Model D200

The FireFighter Model D200 is a flexible, fire-rated fabric curtain tested and approved for unlimited widths. It carries a 20-minute rating under UL 10B and UL 10c and is also rated up to 3 hours under UL 10D. The D200 is UL 1784 smoke and draft tested and listed without an artificial bottom seal.

McKeon FireFighter® Model D200E

The FireFighter D200E adds a patented, burn-tested egress feature to the D200 platform, making it the only protective fire curtain assembly available with a 20-minute rating under UL 10B and UL 10C without hose stream. Available in widths up to 60’ and heights up to 24’, with up to eight complying egress doors. The D200E is also rated up to 3 hours under UL 10D and is UL 1784 smoke and draft tested and listed without an artificial bottom seal.

McKeon SmokeFighter® Model D150

The SmokeFighter D150 is a fixed-in-place smoke curtain for applications where building codes call for smoke only separation and egress is not required. On alarm, the curtain deploys and is contained by side guides and bottom bars. Available in unlimited widths and heights.

McKeon SmokeFighter® Model D500S

The SmokeFighter D500S is a vertical acting smoke curtain that forms a floor-to-ceiling enclosure without mullions or corner posts, using built-in technology to create its own corners and jambs. This makes for straightforward installation and clean concealment with the finished ceiling. The UL1784 labeled system can reduce the volume of smoke in an atrium, protect a corridor or mitigate smoke migration. Available in widths up to 500’ and heights up to 48’.

Smoke Guard Vertical Fire & Smoke Rated Curtains

Smoke Guard vertical curtains deploy from a steel housing typically installed above the finished ceiling, with side guides and a bottom bar to ensure a proper seal. Standard housing and side guide finish is galvanized steel, with RAL colors available at an additional cost. Vertically deploying curtains are available in smoke-rated assemblies meeting UL 1784 and fire-rated assemblies meeting UL10D.

The Smoke Guard M2100 is suited for atrium separation, wall openings, and specialty enclosures, with widths up to 16’ at 12’ high. The M2500 handles larger openings with widths up to 60’ and heights up to 20’. The M1000 protects window openings up to 8’ wide and 8’ high.

Smoke Guard Perimeter Fire & Smoke Rated Curtains

The M4000 Perimeter Fire and Smoke Rated Curtain is a pleated perimeter curtain stored in a 19 3/8” x 9” headbox above the ceiling, requiring no corner posts. It can be configured in a closed, a box-like, or in a multi-faceted open-ended configuration, with or without side guides. Panels can connect at angles from 30 to 150 degrees for custom installations. Available for openings up to 220’ wide and 15’ in drop length. The system includes battery backup, obstruction detection, and integration with local smoke detection systems, and can run off a building’s standby power should the main system fail.

Smoke Guard SG Draft Curtain

This SG Draft Curtain is a static fire and smoke curtain used for warehouses, aircraft hangers, and manufacturing environments. It’s used in both sprinklered and non-sprinklered buildings for automatic smoke removal. Draft curtains work by directing the ceiling jet away from the fire and out of the building through roof vents, either removing smoke automatically or delaying sprinkler activation. Available in unlimited widths and variable drop lengths and compliant with NFPA 13.
