Last month we had the privilege of attending McKeon’s National Sales & Marketing Conference hosted at their corporate headquarters and training center in Bellport, NY on beautiful Long Island.  The week was packed with informative product updates and innovations, code discussions, and remarkable distributor project case studies. It has been far too long since we have been together, and it was great to interact and collaborate with McKeon and our fellow distributors in person!  Here is a recap of the latest enhancements McKeon has rolled out to the market.

AC8800CP Accordion Fire Door with Compress Stacked Design

• The AC8000CP Series offers all the features and benefits of McKeon’s accordion fire door system with a compress stacked design. These fire door systems are available in motor-operated designs and can be provided with touchpad egress.
• The units are made up of either 7-inch or 14-inch panels and are capable of navigating radius turns. For tighter curves, the 7” panel design can accommodate an 18” radius. While the 14” panel design can negotiate a 24” radius.
• The compress stack design can save close to 60% on the typical required stacking depth.

D500S Vertical Action Smoke Protective Curtains

• McKEON has added an advanced technology to its tested and proven SmokeFighter Series … vertical acting smoke protective curtains that form floor-to-ceiling enclosures without mullions or corner posts!
• The D500S adapts to unique configurations to provide great design flexibility. The UL1784 labeled Smoke Curtain technology was accomplished using integral corners which are unmatched in the industry.
• The product design allows for minimal headroom, straightforward installation, and smooth operation. It can be installed without the need for continuous header support, a potential cost savings.
• The D500S can reduce the volume of smoke in an atrium, protect a corridor, or mitigate smoke migration. Best of all, the technology provides required smoke separation without impact to the desired spacious appearance in any design.

D400 Rolling Curtain

• McKeon continues to be an industry leader with the development of the D400. This is a one-of-a-kind rolling curtain shutter technology that has been tested and labeled to UL 10B for 90 minutes with hose stream and UL 1784 smoke & draft.
• The curtain material, which has successfully passed the UL 10B hose stream integrity test, truly makes this product unparalleled in the market. It is designed to protect openings in any wall rated up to 2 hours – including Fire Walls and Fire Barrier Walls!
• Additional product advantages include its lightweight design and reduced headbox requirements which allows for easier installation.
• Available in unlimited width and height.

SS500X FEMA and Wind Rated Systems

• McKeon has added to their SafeSpace 500 Series which can be used to address design challenges presented by ICC’s adoption of FEMA criteria for the design and construction of a storm shelter or safe room that provides near-absolute protection for occupants from wind and wind-borne debris.
• The SS500X has been designed with innovative materials that reduce product weight, side depth and required head box dimensions. Both features contribute to an overall easier installation.
• At the same time weight and clearance dimensions have been decreased while the maximum opening sizes have been increased. Widths of this product are from 2’-9” up to 20’-3 ½” and heights from 3’-6” up to 18’-0”.
