In this video, Ryan Watson showcases a recent Skyfold Classic 55 installation for a confidential client who has implemented Skyfold systems across multiple locations nationwide. This project features two Skyfold Classic 55 STC walls with microdrive motors. It is designed to provide flexible, acoustically sound space division for conference and multipurpose rooms.

Hi everyone, Ryan Watson here with Modernfold Chicago, talking about a confidential client and Skyfold installations. This particular client has used Skyfold across the country through multiple facilities of theirs and this is a second installation in their Chicago office. They previously had installed a couple of walls around 2016 or so. This most recent installation was installed second quarter of 2022.

The architect was Perkins and Will and the general contractor is Clune Construction. The products installed were two Skyfold Classic 55 STC walls with microdrive motors. The opening sizes were both 24 foot long, 8 foot high. The micro drive is specific to the classic wall product at an opening length of less than 36 feet and an opening height of less than 9 foot. So the benefit here is we’re able to accommodate a four-panel high system in that opening and help save cost for the end user.

Had some different finish on this one where the top and bottom rows were of a Duvaltex Marin, Great White was the color name for that fabric and then the two middle rows were more functional in using some marker board material. So the walls could obviously be either projected on or written on as far as additional use. The room looked really neat with some of the light fixtures really kind of stood out from memory in seeing the space. And just a nice clean application subdividing some conference rooms, some multipurpose rooms.
