This video features Ryan Watson presenting a premium Skyfold Zenith 60 installation for a confidential client in downtown Chicago. Designed by EWP Architects and built by Clune Construction, this advanced operable wall system offers top-tier acoustic performance with a 60 STC rating and is equipped with upgraded touchscreen controls and enhanced safety features. The wall is finished with a Carnegie Xorel Sahara Matte and includes custom ceiling closure panels to seamlessly blend into the space.

Hi guys, it’s Ryan Watson here with Modernfold Chicago talking about a confidential client in Chicago. The project was designed by EWP Architects and then was built out by Clune Construction. Both the architect and the general contractor are familiar with Skyfold. Each of them have a number of projects under their belt.

The product that was actually utilized was Skyfold’s Zenith Premium 60, so kind of like their Cadillac wall, so it’s their higher end Zenith Premium system, and then it tops out at industry leading 60 STC. The size of the wall was 30 foot long and 11 foot high, and it was finished with a Carnegie Xorel Sahara Matte Colorway 602. The ceiling closure panels were finished in Firestone bone white paint to blend with the ceiling. It also incorporates some upgraded touchscreen controls which are which are pretty neat to be able to operate the wall going up or down.

The Skyfold wall at this project was utilized to subdivide two flexible conference rooms. Xenith premium safety nose on the bottom edge of the door so as the wall is lowering, should the bottom of the door come in contact, should that safety sensor come in contact with an object, a table or a chair, what will happen? It’s pressure sensitive, so it’ll automatically retract back up about six inches or so and stop until you have whatever that obstruction was moved out of the way and then you can go back and re-engage with the controls and then lower the wall.
