Noise Reduction Coefficient (NRC) measures how much sound a surface absorbs, on a scale from 0 to 1. A rating of 0 means sound bounces right back. A rating of 1 means the surface absorbs all of it.  The Acousti-Seal Encore Micro-Perf® has an impressive NRC rating of .90 when uncovered and a near-perfect .95 NRC when finished with acoustic coverings.  To put it simply, it’s designed to make your room noticeably quieter and more comfortable.

But that’s not all. Sound Transmission Class (STC) is an integer rating of how well a building partition attenuates airborne sound. The full wall-to-wall assembly carries a 49 STC rating, while a full wall sealed to the back of a Type III pocket door reaches 51 STC.  That means conversations stay private and distractions stay out.
